Alcohol - advice and support
Many people enjoy alcohol and do so both sensibly and socially. However nearly one in three men and one in five women drink more than the NHS recommended unit guidelines for alcohol.
Misuse of alcohol can lead to a variety of problems. These include abuse of alcohol, series health problems, binge drinking, drunken behaviour, underage drinking, drink driving an alcohol related violence.
If alcohol is affecting you, your family or anyone you know, contact the Hambleton and Richmondshire Community Addictions Service (HARCAS). Confidential counselling, advice, information and support are available at a centre near you. Their office is open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm with a late drop in on a Wednesday between 6pm and 8pm.
