Rural Regeneration Strategy

The Regional Economic Strategy (RES) produced by the Regional Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward Opens in a new window Opens in a new window has since provided the broad framework for economic development activity, with the Sub Regional Investment Plan (SRIP) sitting beneath this and providing a more focused approach that has direct relevance for Hambleton.

External influences have a strong bearing on what Hambleton is able to achieve, and partnership working with both public and private sectors is a key element to ensuring the economic well being of the District. To ensure that Hambleton can continue to benefit from and maximise the opportunities for appropriate development, prosperity and partnership working, a new Rural Regeneration Strategy Opens in a new window Opens in a new window has been produced to encompass wide ranging economic development and regeneration issues in Hambleton

Recent capital projects that have been completed by Hambleton District Council with significant support by Yorkshire Forward and the European Regional Development Fund are as follows:

Leeming Bar Food Enterprise Centre

Completed in July 2009, the new £2.8million Food Enterprise Centre on Leeming Bar Business Park is a 2,172 sq m (23,400 sq ft) food incubator development that combines 11 food grade units to let, together with an on-site management facility offering technical and business advice. Aimed at new and young food businesses, the project has been undertaken by Hambleton District Council with significant support from Yorkshire Forward and the European Regional Development Fund. Evolution Business Centre

Scheduled for completion in September 2009, Evolution Business Centre is a new £2.85million managed office development close to the centre of Northallerton that provides 29 small office suites in varying sizes - ideal for new and fledgling businesses. Tenants will benefit from on-site facilities that include a manned reception area, access to fully equipped meeting rooms, hot-desking space, virtual office services and business support. The project has been undertaken by Hambleton District Council with significant funding from Yorkshire Forward and the European Regional Development Fund.
