Allocations DPD

NNA IndicativeOn 18 December 2009 the Council submitted its Allocations DPD Opens in a new windowto the Secretary of State. This plan sets out our proposed sites for development (e.g. housing and employment) and defines Development Limits for the main settlements in the area of Hambleton outside the North York Moors National Park for the plan period up to 2026.

It contains the Proposals Map at Annex 5 Opens in a new window showing the proposed changes to the adopted LDF (Development Policies DPD Annex 5) Proposals Map and to the Development Limits saved from the Hambleton District-wide Local Plan (as defined for those 50 settlements in the settlement hierarchy).

The Proposed Submission Allocations DPD Opens in a new window was published on 23 January 2009. The six week period for making formal representations closed on 6th March 2009. The same Proposed Submission Allocations DPD (January 2009) was republished on 2 October 2009 with a revised Consultation Statement (June 2009) Opens in a new window and Sustainability Appraisal (April 2009) Opens in a new window. The second 6 week period for making further formal representations closed on 13 November 2009.

All the formal representations received are available to view and download using the link below. There is also a Representations Statement Opens in a new window which notes the number of representations made and gives a brief summary of the main issues raised. The representations and statement have been passed to the Planning Inspectorate, who have appointed Karen McCabe as the Inspector and Sian Worden as Assistant Inspector to carry out an Examination into the document. Hearing sessions are due to take place over 8 days starting at 10am on 12 May 2010, followed by receipt of the Inspectors' report in July 2010 and Council adoption is anticipated in November 2010. A pre-hearing meeting took place on 10 March. The Submission Allocations DPD and supporting documents such as background study reports and other key Council strategies and plans relevant to the preparation of the Allocations DPD are listed in the Statement of Document Availability Opens in a new window which indicates how they can be inspected. They can also be viewed or downloaded using the links below or from the Planning Policy Advice and Documents page. Paper copies can be provided upon request at reasonable charge. Further site specific background technical studies and appraisals (e.g. covering transport/access, drainage/flooding and environmental constraints) and layout plans have been commissioned by some developers of major allocation sites and a list is provided under Allocations Background Documents below. Copies of these can also be provided upon request at reasonable copying rates.
