Open Space, Sport and Recreation SPD

Applegarth in SpringIn February 2011 the Council adopted its fifth Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). The Open Space, Sport and Recreation SPD covers detailed guidance on the Council's requirements for providing open space for sport and recreation facilities within housing developments in the District.

The SPD was produced in accordance with other Local Development Framework (LDF) policies found in the Core Strategy and Development Policies Development Plan Documents (DPDs), primarily Development Policy DP37.

As part of the consultation into the SPD, maps of all existing areas of open space were sent to each Parish Council for comment. The revised maps, which provide an accurate picture of open space within the District, have been added to the Local View internet site.
