Rabies Protection
In the events of an outbreak of rabies, the responsibility for controlling it lies with the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. At a local level North Yorkshire County Council is the Animal Health Authority and has specific duties assigned to it if an outbreak occurs.
