Flood Warning Signs
Signs of a flood
The Environment Agency has a system of codes warning of the danger of flooding for main rivers.
They are used by the national and local media and are designed to give householders and businesses as much warning
as possible of trouble ahead.
The codes have the following meanings:
![]() | Severe Flooding Expected. Imminent danger to life and property. Act Now! |
![]() | Flooding Expected. Affecting homes, businesses and main roads. Act now! |
![]() | Flooding possible. Be aware! Be prepared. Watch out! |
![]() | All Clear. |
