Quality Parish Council Scheme

In September 2003 all Parish Councils were invited to a seminar on the implications of the Quality Parish Council scheme. From that six councils are now pursuing accreditation - Easingwold, Northallerton, Stokesley, Crakehall, Bedale and Thirsk.

Hambleton is now working with these parishes to help them with this scheme. A key issue has been the training/qualification of the parish clerks. Once this has been completed Hambleton will look at potential enhanced service roles for the parishes. The initiative also involves North Yorkshire County Council.
