Hambleton Play Partnership
At Hambleton District Council we are committed to working in partnership, and committed to both engaging and supporting our local communities. Children's play is a vital part of life in Hambleton and is important in creating happy, well-rounded children who learn in different ways.
To assist in the delivery of high quality play provision the Council has established the Hambleton Play Partnership which includes representation from the public, voluntary and community sectors.
The first task for the Partnership was to prepare Young Fun a Play Plan for Hambleton Opens in a new window. This document has been used to secure £199,710 from the Big Lottery towards 5 play projects as follows:
- Play Ranger Scheme
- East Thirsk Play Area
- Thirsk8 Park
- Aldwark Play Area
- Northallerton Base Project
The role of the Partnership is to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the plan and co-ordinate play related initiatives and issues for the district. The Partnership meets on a quarterly basis.
