Our aims and objectives are necessarily broad as they express what the Council is trying to achieve overall. These aims and objectives are developed in more detail through our individual Service Plans and are monitored through our performance measurement systems.

Safety - making people feel safer:
By reducing crime and the fear of crime
Providing help when needed to deal with identified community problems
Target areas: reducing crime, reducing fear of crime, dealing with local problems.
Environment and Housing - to enhance and environment that is attractive, clean and safe:
With complementary infrastructure
And access to quality and affordable housing
Target areas: Cleaner streets, more local recycling schemes, better housing, maintaining the character and appearance of the district, ensuring benefit take-up by those entitled.
