Nominated Neighbour Leaflets
The Nominated Neighbour Scheme has been set up to tackle the problem of doorstep crime and to make vulnerable people safe in their own homes.

Doorstep Crime can be:
- Bogus Workmen
- Bogus money collectors
- Bogus Officials
This scheme removed the need for the potential victim having to open their front door, instead they simply hold up a yellow card to their window or door directing the caller to a neighbour's house, who will then check the identity of the person and return with the caller to the potential victim's home. The neighbour will then supervise the visit to ensure nothing untoward takes place and they will not leave until the caller has left. This will provide comfort and reassurance to the householder.
The 'Nominated Neighbour' will be a trustworthy person chosen freely by the householder and readily available. The chances of the householder entering into any contract or have unnecessary or over priced work carried out, or giving cash will be virtually eliminated.
