Vale and Dale Handyperson Service

Introduction

The Vale & Dale handyperson Schemes operate the following:

The service is designed for a vulnerable client group comprising the elderly, people with a disability and those people on a low income and all resident within Hambleton.

The handyperson scheme is not run for profit and the small charges that we make goes towards our handyperson costs and helps ensure the scheme can assist as many people as possible.

Home Safety & Security

The scheme is in receipt of support from the Hambleton Community Safety Partnership and as such has been provided with home security equipment to be supplied and fitted free of charge for vulnerable customers.

The equipment that we can supply & fit comprise:

Door chains
Door bolts
Safe T bars (Alternative to chains for DG UPVC Doors)
Door viewers
Small window alarms
Garage/Shed alarms
Smoke Alarms - provided by North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service

In addition the handyperson will offer appropriate advice on how to deal with bogus callers, doorstep salespeople and rogue tradesmen.
