Fear of crime
As one of our 'Strategic Priorities' the aim of the group is to reduce crime, the fear of crime and disorder within Hambleton, and to educate our communities with the true extent of crime and disorder.
Objectives
- Educate our communities about true extent of crime
- Dispel myths and fears about crimes against the person and property.
- Encourage our communities to understand the roles and responsibilities of each partnership agency.
- Develop a sense of purpose, belonging and ownership with each and every community.
- Reduce crime and the fear of crime and disorder.
Targets
- Use standard focus groups to measure current fears through questionnaires face to face interviews and all other available means.
- Recognise and acknowledge the core reasons upon which these fears are based.
- Develop a problem solving approach to identify the full extent of these fears, together with joint partnership solutions.
