Community strategy
A new plan is helping to shape Hambleton - and it has been created with the help of local people.
The Hambleton Community Plan sets out to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. It covers a wide range of priorities - drawn up through a partnership approach led from the communities it will affect.
The plan means for the first time local people have no cause to complain they can't get action about issues within their community - it is the mechanism to make a positive impact and make changes for the good.
It has been developed and prepared by the Local Strategic Partnership . It doesn't cover every local service, but provides a framework for all the various plans and strategies which are in place to take forward and implement the vision. At its heart is what the residents of the district say is important.
Five themes have been agreed, underpinned by specific actions and targets. The themes link to key strategies of both the Council and key partners and reflect regional, sub regional and national priorities. The themes also reflect the priorities expressed by the community in Area Group Action Plans.
If there is something in your community that needs changing, contact the community planning team or come along to one of the group meetings. Identifying and prioritising actions are what the plan is all about because it is owned community wide.
