Area Groups

Area Groups are representive of the public, private, voluntary and community sectors working or living in their area. They are centred on each of our five market towns and their surrounding villages:

These partnerships act as the Area Groups for the Hambleton Strategic Partnership and they have each produced their own Community Plans. Each plan has fed into the Hambleton Community Plan ensuring that local issues have been considered.

These local Community Plans enable towns and villages to unlock a variety of grants that are available to improve existing services or establish new projects as long as the need can be demonstrated.

The Area Groups, who work on a voluntary basis, have ensured that the local community has been given the opportunity to feed their views into the plans. Groups have held market stalls, toured villages using a mobile unit and distributed questionnaires to gather views from the community.

Each Plan covers a ten-year period, and will be updated on a regular basis.

All the local Community Plans include an action plan to address the issues that the market towns and villages face. Each group is keen to keep everyone informed of their progress and will continue to publicise key stages of their development.
