Approved Suppliers-

Hambleton and Richmondshire District Councils do not hold a list of Approved Suppliers however the information below details the ways in which suppliers can do business with the councils.

How To Do Business With The Council

Each opportunity is advertised, or quotes obtained depending on the value of the contract using one or a range of the following methods:

Frameworks and collaborations

The councils will often use contractors who have been selected through purchasing consortiums such as OGC Buying solutions or those under the umbrella of Pro5 Opens in a new window which include ESPO (Eastern Shires Purshasing Organisation), YPO (Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation), NEPO (North East Purchasing Organisation), CBS (Central buying Consortium) and WMS (West Mercia Supplies)

Advertising opportunities on Contracts Finder

We currently use a new website called Contracts Finder Opens in a new window where suppliers can register and be alerted when suitable opportunities become available, often for lower-value contracts, making this particularly useful for smaller businesses

Supplier Contract Management System (SCMS)

It is the policy of Hambleton & Richmondshire Councils to do as much business as possible by electronic means to reduce the costs of administration and transaction processing. This policy is in line with Central Government directives for Local Authorities to make financial and efficiency savings by using electronic methods.

Therefore, the Council now uses an electronic procurement system to run quotations and tenders, which is also used by all 22 Councils in the Yorkshire and Humber region. Suppliers can register their details free of charge on the Supplier Contract Management System (SCMS) by visiting http://scms.alito.co.uk/ Opens in a new window creating a username and password and entering their details into the company profile. Suppliers will then be notified of any opportunities which arise which may be of interest to them.

If you experience any problems registering with SCMS, or would like any further assistance, please contact the SCMS helpdesk on 0113 247 4001.

There is also a guide below explaining how to do business with all of the North Yorkshire councils. Please contact Helen Allan with any suggestions on how this guide can be improved at helen.allan@richmondshire.gov.uk
