Community Grants
Are you looking for funding for a project and don't know where to start?
The Council gives a high priority to improving the well-being, environment, leisure time and quality of life of District residents. It also recognises and wishes to support the notable contribution that community groups and individuals make to taking care of and improving their area.
Embarking upon a community project can be a difficult task and Hambleton District Council together with other supporting agencies such as Rural Action Yorkshire and the Local Development Agency can assist you by offering specific advice on grant aid, timing of applications, constitutions, project planning, VAT, statutory approvals, etc. The contacts for these and other organisations that produce funding publications and/or advice and information can be found below:

The Hambleton Community Grant Scheme
The Hambleton Community Grants Scheme has been established to assist in the development and delivery of Community Plan projects and to assist the Council in delivering its long term vision 'making life better'. The grants scheme helps capital projects that have been identified either in a Parish Plan or in the LSP Area Groups Community Plan. Based on five key themes - people, places, prosperity, safety and health - the plan identifies things that local people feel are important to improving their quality of life. It brings together the local groups and organisations that can help make them happen.
Eligibility
- Capital projects that have been identified in either in a Parish Plan, Community Plan or Theme Group Action Plan (e.g. equipment, building enhancements)
- Available to Parish Councils, voluntary organisations and community groups with a constitution or set of rules
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate links to at least one priority Community Plan aim
- The grant requested must not exceed 75% of the total cost of the project
- Match funding must not be from another Hambleton District Council source
- The project must be completed before the end of the financial year end (31st March) in which the application was submitted
- Statutory bodies, businesses and individuals are not eligible for Community Grant funding.
How to Apply
To request an application form or for further information on the Hambleton Community Plan and/or Area Group Community Plans please contact the Community Link Officer at Hambleton District Council on 01609 767212 or email peter.cole@hambleton.gov.uk.
