Talented Young Musicians
The Purpose of the Scheme The 'Grant Aid to Talented Young Musicians' Scheme aims to assist gifted young musicians to reach their maximum potential, without the expense of tuition and travel and accommodation to performances being too great a financial burden on their parents, guardians or on themselves. |
Am I eligible? The Young Musician will become eligible for grant aid when they have attained a minimum standard of Grade 6 - Distinction or above, under the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
Grants are discretionary and up to a maximum of £150. It is considered that talent is more important than financial background, therefore, applicants will not be subject to any kind of means test, however, details of full financial commitment to their musical activities will be required to be submitted. When do I apply? Applications for grant received by the Leisure Services Section are submitted for consideration by Hambleton Arts prior to the Spokesperson for Health making a final decision. Applications are considered throughout the year. If an application is unsuccessful the applicant may re-apply after a 12 month period.
How to Apply Either email the Grant Scheme Contact: david.earl@hambleton.gov.uk or contact the Leisure Services Section. If appropriate, an application form will be sent for completion.
