Roads - flooding - drains and gullies
This service is delivered by North Yorkshire County Council.
Keeping roadside drains, otherwise known as gullies, clean and fully operational is the responsibility of the County Council. Blocked gullies can cause a hazard to highway users, particularly during periods of heavy rain. Some drains referred to as such are in fact sewers. Any sewers in the public highway are now the responsibility of the local Water Authority.
