Council tax - appeals

If you feel dissatisfied after your claim for Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit has been processed you can ask the Benefit Section to look at your claim again. The reasons for asking the Benefit Section to look at your claim could be because:

  • You do not agree with the amount of benefit that has been awarded to you
  • You do not agree that you should pay back any money
  • You disagree with the dates of your claim
  • Your claim will be looked at by a different member of staff. If you are still unhappy with the decision you can ask for your appeal to be sent to the Independent Tribunal.

 

The Appeals Service hold appeals for Social Security, Child Support and Vaccine Damage. They are completely independent from Hambleton District Council.
